NW MID-CENTURY MODERN

nw midcentury modern | portland, oregon

Enter a bachelor living in a mid-century diamond in the rough, due west of the Swifts roosting playground. The client wanted a home where he could entertain (read:party!) and share space with his large network of friends. The finishes needed to be warm and inviting, natural, durable, and complement the mid-century aesthetic...with a twist, reflecting his personal (rebel) style. The kitchen and fireplace are clad in hot-rolled steel, with The Tom Kundig Collection droop pulls. Peeks of teal blue accent the space. A custom barn style door constructed of original, vintage bomber parts secure the primary suite from the entertainment areas. The primary bath is clad in black Heath tile, with a large walk-in shower, soaking tub, and floating marble vanity. The lower floor has exposed original concrete floors with radiant heat, large walls of glass open to nature, with textural elements layered into the interior.
