SCOPE: Kitchen + Dining Room Remodel

This Gaines Court home is a 1970’s split-level home in SW Portland’s Bridelmile neighborhood. Bright Designlab was tasked with rethinking the Kitchen layout and its relationship to the adjacent spaces. Our mission was to create a more open floorplan with a more relevant, modern aesthetic.

After carefully laying out several schematic solutions and programming the client’s needs, we agreed on a layout that cleverly opened the Kitchen to the Dining Room without compromising necessary storage. Every material was carefully considered and chosen to bring in color, layer in texture, and dramatic contrast. The custom terracotta tile floor pattern shifts from brick to herringbone to define the transition between the Family Room and the Kitchen. The use of fully-integrated appliances help to streamline and complete this modern design.
